Day 5 Of Being Intentionally Thankful – November 5, 2013
Today, I am thankful for the right and ability to homeschool my son. On the good flow days (like today), it’s great! Even on the not so good flow days, it’s still good because we both learn something and we have fun in the process. The creativity, freedom and customized learning experiences that homeschooling allows is wonderful. And for that I’m very thankful.
BTW, the Little Man beat me in our rip roaring game of Math Craps today. He never even realized he wrote and completed 30….count them….THIRTY…. addition problems. How do we play Math Craps? We each take a turn “shooting” the dice and adding up the dice numbers. He’s given 1 point per math equation that he gets right the first time. Then there is a bonus point for each equation he double-checks for accuracy that Mom did. Then he also gets 1 point for each equation he writes and adds correctly from the dice sums of his turn and my turn added together. I get one point for each dice shoot equation with no bonuses or extra points. Obviously, the points system is in his favor…..for now.
I’m not ashamed to say that with a score of 30 – 10, he skunked Teacher Mom…..REALLY BAD! *tehehehe* That made him walk tall and proud….and begging to play again soon. Mission accomplished. Learning really can be fun.
Until next time…enjoy your at home world and be #IntentionallyThankful.
